AboutCommunityTutorialHelp pages

"I extend my warm greetings to the user of this wiki, your guide to the series throughout its lifetime. Daily it offers to you facts about Jimmy the Jinty, following, as were, the flow of the season. It is a good thing to have something this handy so that each day we might find a spare time and there we may learn something new about the series. David has made a series of his own to impress us and it looks wonderful in my view. May you continue to discover the depths of the series through this wiki which we share and write here in this wiki."
Sir Ralph, current webmaster.

Jim

Jimmy is a London Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) Fowler 3F 0-6-0T, nicknamed Jinty. The design was based on rebuilds by Henry Fowler of the Midland Railway 2441 Class introduced in 1899 by Samuel Waite Johnson. 422 Jinties were built between 1924 and 1930. The design worked so well, that production of the locomotives was carried on into the LMS. They were built by the ex-L&YR Horwich Works and the private firms Bagnall's, Beardmores, Hunslet, North British and the Vulcan Foundry.
